Bridges
Dental bridges literally ‘bridge the gap’ created by one or more missing teeth.

A bridge is made up of two crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap, and a false tooth that is suspended in the space between the crowns. This is permanently cemented and cannot be removed.

Dentures
Dentures are removable appliances made to replace missing teeth and are supported by the surrounding hard and soft tissues of your mouth.

Dentures come in a variety of designs, they can be bonded into place, clipped onto the other teeth already in your mouth or attached to dental implants.

They can either be partial dentures, where they attach to other teeth or they can be full dentures giving you an entire new set of teeth.

Endodontics
Also known as “root canal” treatment, it is an effective way to save a tooth that might otherwise need to be extracted.

The most common reason for a root canal is if a tooth has a deep cavity or fracture that causes bacteria to reach the pulp or nerve of the tooth and infect it. When the nerves of a tooth die, they are removed and the canals are cleaned out and enlarged.

A special filling is placed in the canals and the tooth is sealed off. Usually after a root canal, the tooth will become brittle and vulnerable to fracturing.

The ideal treatment plan to protect and add strength is a crown placement after the root canal is completed.

Extractions
A poorly planned extraction can result in increased pain, discomfort, healing time, and more unnecessary follow-up appointments.

Our doctors have years of experience with extractions, ranging from baby teeth to complicated wisdom teeth extractions. Even a simple "very loose" tooth extracted improperly can result in life threatening infection spread or bleeding issues.

All wounds must be treated carefully and thoroughly to ensure the most ideal healing time.

We will always take the time to discuss risks, benefits, and break down step by step each procedure before proceeding so that there are no surprises, ensuring that the procedure goes as smooth as possible, as well as post-extraction protocol to ensure success healing with minimal discomfort.

Implants and Braces

Although we currently do not personally perform these procedures, we work alongside an excellent team of dental specialists to coordinate and plan the ideal treatment. She will also discuss risks and benefits for each procedure.

We follow strict sterilization and universal precaution protocol in accordance with the RCDSO and the Ministry of Health of Ontario

Preventative Checkups and Cleanings

Checkups are essential to prevention and is performed at every visit.

Our doctors try to do checkups for every cleaning, allowing for a more thorough review of your overall oral health.

We review oral hygiene instructions and provide alternatives to patients who dislike using floss, and always tries to provide tidbits customized to each individual patient's needs

Prevention is one of the most critical elements to dentistry, as simple oral hygiene and care can prevent the worst of scenarios from ever happening

Composite Resin Fillings

Also known as tooth coloured/white fillings, they are popular and are preferred by most patients and dentists.

Composite resin fillings are natural in appearance, they come in a variety of shades for a perfect color match and they bond directly to the teeth, helping to restore your tooth’s natural appearance.

Amalgam Fillings

Also known as silver fillings. Although unaesthetic and often questioned as unsafe, there has been continuous, extensive research by numerous well recognized organizations such as the WHO, the CDA/ADA, the FDA, etc. proving again and again the safety of these types of fillings.

We do not use them often and will only and always perform these with your consent when we feel that there are certain benefits of using amalgam over white fillings for rare scenarios.

Crowns
A crown, often called a cap, is an extra-coronal covering around the entire entity of the tooth.

Generally made of porcelain and metal, they are strong, long lasting and absolutely stunning in their recreation of your natural teeth.

Crowns are usually recommended if a tooth is fractured, decayed, has a large restoration, or has been root canal treated, all of which make the tooth vulnerable to breaking.

Veneers
Veneers are thin layers of porcelain which are bonded onto your teeth (usually front teeth), and are used to cosmetically alter teeth that are discoloured, misaligned or chipped.

Veneers will benefit patients who want to close spaces, to re-align crooked teeth, to increase length and/or width of your teeth, and will have the added affect of increasing whiteness. They are stronger than regular fillings and generally have a longer life span.
